Meinklang is a large, family run, biodynamic wonderland in the Burgenland area of Austria. The farm is self-sustaining, with wild vines being fertilized by cows that feed on the grass and grains that are grown there. Meinklang's "Mulatschak" White, seemed like the perfect companion for a socially distanced backyard visit with friends. The blend of Welschriesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer is juicy, aromatic and naturally hazy. My friends and I sat around the fire and talked about what we tasted. We all agreed that there was stone fruit on our tongues, but exactly which one (apricot? white peach?) we couldn't agree on. The blend of white grapes sits with its skins for 5-7 days which gives it texture and the pleasant taste of over steeped tea. The yeast that turns this grape juice into wine occurs naturally, which means you can have little bit of the Meinklang farm fantasy for yourself. -LaShea Delaney
